Biopark, troglo, too beautiful...

The Biopark of Doué La Fontaine is unique in many ways.

It is the only one in Europe to have established itself in a 14-hectare troglodyte site, offering visitors superb vegetation punctuated by waterfalls and galleries. The rock is typical of the region, formed by a shell stone deposited by the sea about 11 million years ago!

Quite tender, it allows to shape and dig the decorations adapted to each animal species.

The interest of the ensemble is focused on certain regions of the world: sub-Saharan Africa, South America, the Himalayas, South-East Asia, Europe, Madagascar... and the presentation of the animals takes place in vegetalized immersion spaces allowing, in an ecosystem, to bring together dozens of different species. These spaces have been designed to place visitors in the middle of the animals.

We can thus pass from the giraffe camp to the okapi sanctuary, from the rhino valley to the leopard canyon, etc.

At the Biopark of Doué La Fontaine, the largest aviary in Europe

Don't miss the large aviary, the largest in Europe, with its 1200 m² and 13 m high, between its falun walls. There are 600 species of birds that evolve above the visitors!
