Doué La Fontaine : the museum "Aux anciens commerces

Do your shopping... yesterday!

From the castle built by Baron Foullon, creator of the rose gardens of Doué La Fontaine, there are only "the" stables left! But, when you see them, you can imagine that the castle must have been quite impressive!

Today, these stables are home to the "Musée aux Anciens Commerces".

And, much more than just offering you a visit to a classic museum, we invite you to do your shopping by visiting some twenty shops as they were between 1850 and 1950.

These old-fashioned shops have been completely restored, with their crates, shelves and obsolete products, many of which have disappeared.

And this very presentation allows you, for a moment and to close your eyes a little, to find yourself in another time, in another atmosphere, and to let back buried memories, transmitted emotions...
