A museum that can be tasted!

The museum of the vine and the wine...

This museum that you can taste is obviously, first of all, a museum! As in any self-respecting museum, there is a tour that takes you from room to room. Each room develops a theme: the work of the vine, the work of the wine, the cooperage, the presses, the life of, sixty years of viticulture, man and the vine a love story.

In the vineyard work room, you will discover the techniques of grafting, planting, soil work, and seasonal work that punctuate the year.

The different stages of the winemaking process are presented in the "wine work" room.

The cooperage presents the stages of traditional production... from the choice and work of the wood to the strapping.

The vine library is particularly unusual since, in this cellar, you will discover a collection of bottles dating from 1887 to the present day, and each of them contains a story.

Animations and activities...

It is all year long that things happen in this small museum which moves a lot! Go and have a look in their site to have the description of the animations, and the dates. Come on, just to sharpen your curiosity, I'll quote you one of them, which takes place during the Night of the museums... it's the meal in the dark !

A museum to be tasted?

Yes, a museum such as the Vine and Wine Museum cannot just show, explain, or even involve... It must also, of course, allow you to taste, and in the company of local professionals, of course. Anjou Saumur wine tastings take place on many dates that you will find on the site, and the guides explain all the art of wine tasting, and how to describe a wine with its aromas and flavors...

And this Museum of Vine and Wine, where is it located? It is located "place des vignerons", of course! You can't make it up!

Vignerons d'Anjou.
