As soon as you enter, you are greeted by a scene paying tribute to Lucien Prévost, a photographer from around the world and a pioneer of the film industry in Paris, whose father was a baker in Graçay, where he obtained his school certificate in 1888. You will find a description of his life and achievements on the museum's website.
3000 objects !
There are about 3000 objects, which cover the technical, historical, and also aesthetic evolution of photography which are presented.
You will also discover two rooms dedicated to the inventions of the Belle Époque, the famous cinematograph of the Lumière brothers, whose train arrives in the station of La Ciotat, the phonograph of Edison, the TSF of Marconi, the gramophone of Berliner, in short the evocation of those who, with the bubbling of their time, have opened with genius the doors of a new world...
