A little place to enjoy quietly, to discover peacefully, on a beautiful summer day for example....
Saint Aignan, du Morbihan....
Yes, Morbihan....
Not to be confused with Saint Aignan du Loir et Cher, in whose commune is one of the most beautiful animal parks in the world, the Zooparc de Beauval.
Let's go back to Saint Aignan, Morbihan....
It is a commune of 625 inhabitants, well nestled at the edge of the Quénécan forest, and well oriented on the southern shore of Lake Guerlédan.
It is a small Breton village, with its church and chapels, and remarkable Breton cottages, such as Le manoir de Botpléven, dating from the 16th century, or the Trémer farm, dating from the 17th century, for example.
The village also presents some unusual small trades (but not necessarily Breton!), such as a breeding of competition cats, a rental of donkeys and micro-brewery, a maintenance company of equestrian blankets....
See more details on the village website!
A dam and a lake
The dam, of course, was built to produce electricity, creating a lake that now hides sunken trees and buildings. A video shows them, shot during a complete emptying (441 Pictures).
Today, all water sports are practiced here... including a nap on the beach! You can also walk along the trails that surround it, or hide in the bird observatory and admire it!
A Museum
It is an unusual museum, the Electricity Museum, the "Gueredan Electro-Library", logical in this place!
It is located in a traditional building in the village, opposite the church parking lot. It traces the history of the Guerlédan dam, the arrival of electricity in the region, its applications, and presents many related objects, some of which date back to the early 20th century.
