A small path.... the Mademoiselle Gabrielle Trail

In Brain sur Allonnes, Mireille's "little path", they have traced it, made it, and it makes "three little tricks in the woods"!... Yes, the oldest will probably remember Mireille's song about the "little path, which smells like hazelnuts..." and, for a little nostalgia, they will follow this link

But why talk about this Brain Trail on Allonnes? Is it unusual? Poetic?

In Brain sur Allonnes, there is..... there is...

On this lovely village of Angevine du Val d'Authion, crossed by the river of the same name, and located in the Loire-Anjou !-Touraine regional natural park, there are the remains of the Chevalerie de Sacé, a museum of history and archaeology with a collection of 14th century paving tiles (among others!), a remarkable medieval botanical garden, and... a pretty little forest!

Thank you, Miss!

Miss?

Why "Thank you, Miss"? Why is this new trail inaugurated on June 30, 2018 called "Sentier Mademoiselle Gabrielle"?
Because this Mademoiselle, Mademoiselle Gabrielle Roussel de Coucy, a town councillor from 1953 to 1983, worked hard to ensure that the Courcy forest (192 hectares, after all!) returned to the town rather than falling into any hands!
And when you say forest, you mean path, as the song says! (see above!)

Yes, but what about it?

Yes, all this is very nice, but does not yet explain why dedicate an article from the "Great Unusual West" to this Brain Trail on Allones...
Why? But because it is unusual, and poetic, which is still two strong reasons!

Let's pass on the fact that he walks in the forest, which is not exceptional in itself. It is well suited for people with "reduced mobility", but it is not the only one... It is also equipped with tables and benches, and along the way, there are apparatus for young and old, and games of skill and balance made of wood, all on a closed plot, which can prevent a child from getting lost following a butterfly.

Yes, all this is nice, but... unusual? Poetic?

Here's a squirrel... Here's a rabbit... a deer...
A pelican?
A turtle?
Yes, along the way, we meet the animals of the forest, and others too.

They are wooden sculptures, erected on the trunks from which they come, and which accompany your walk, unusual figures, poetic environment... I told you so!
