The mill... with images

label

The Poussset mill, one of the last industrial grain mills, open to the public, has found a vocation as an image mill (among others!)

An old, very old mill...

In the 12th century, there were several water mills of the type of the one we are interested in. And this mill in Montval-sur-Loir has kept all its milling equipment. Impressive!

You can follow a guided tour, which begins, of course, with the impressive 6.60-metre diameter paddle wheel, with the winnowing system established on the calm waters of the Loir.
Then we find ourselves, on the ground floor, facing the immense gears that drive the machinery! On the first floor, there is a superb grinding room, in very good condition.
Above, we have the impression of a clutter which is, of course, very organized, from chute to chute in order to sort the intermediate products. Then we wait for the third floor, with the final product in the "flour chamber", after screening and selection.

In short, we are impressed and seduced by so much ingenuity, so much know-how... But this water mill is also... an image mill!

Unusual: the Poussset mill is also an image mill....

We were seduced by the water mill that uses the nonchalant current of the Loir... Let's now move on to what makes it very unusual, and, to be honest, unique in its kind!

The Mill also has a Film Projection Museum, which opened in 2010, managed by enthusiasts, themselves from the cinema and art history.

In addition to many materials for amateurs and professionals, such as 60 projectors for example, we will discover how cinema works, formats, relief, original posters of films of what has been called the "new wave", shooting photos....

And the visit can also lead to projections.

The park....

It is a mill, on the Loir, and it is quite naturally that it proposes a very pretty park along this quiet, but capricious river.

In addition to allowing you to walk peacefully, this park also hosts, each year, screenings on giant screens, an art flea market, and evenings with country meals... find out more!
