The "soup festival" in the remarkable garden

A remarkable garden

Yes, I know, you were attracted by the title of this article which mentions, and here we are really in the unusual, a "soup festival". And now I'm talking about something else! But yes, you have to set the scene.

Decoration, it's a very small word for such a beautiful garden.

Once upon a time, there was a lady who, in 1960, inherited a park and a house... abandoned since 1914! Obviously, there were a couple of things to do... and she set about this immense task: restoring all the buildings and recreating the gardens.

During her travels, she had appreciated the richness, apparent disorder and luxuriance of the English gardens, and she was inspired by them.

A remarkable restaurant

Yes, I know, you're already thinking that if I bring up the question of the restaurant, maybe it's because we're not very far from "the soup festival"... well, not at all!

I just wanted to point out in passing that, in the heart of the garden, you could spend a pleasant moment in a room with a sober and authentic decoration, or, on sunny days, on the shaded terraces...

A very remarkable teahouse

Now you've got it, we're not talking about soup, of course! On the other hand, why this qualifier of "very remarkable"?

Because of the incredible cakes served there...

Imagine the "homemade cake" that boldly mixes nuts, cinnamon and carrots under a sugar icing.

Imagine the "sweet root" cake that combines the sweetness and smoothness of beetroot with chocolate.

Imagine the "grandmother" cake, a sponge cake filled with candied oranges, with a bitter chocolate icing...

I'll stop here, it's up to you to discover the others!

And the "soup party"?

Here, here... I'm getting to it!

Every year, the castle organizes a certain number of events. And among these events, as you may have guessed, there is the famous "Soup Festival"!

As is normal, this "soup festival" takes place in November, when you start to appreciate warming up with a good soup when you come home...

It is a contest, yes, a soup contest, in teams of three.

You can taste, comment, vote... and thus participate in a great moment of warm conviviality!
