No gas tax, no diesel tax, no smoke, no noise... just birds, wind, and waves! And for good reason, on the island of Bréhat, cars are forbidden! Unusual, isn't it?
But this is not the only characteristic of this island, far from it!
Surrounded by 86 reefs and islets that are traps for adventurous boats, it is accessible by boat, in about ten minutes, from the tip of the Arcouest. And then you get to heaven!
It is little to say that it constitutes a magical space of peace, serenity... it is with a calm heart that you will gently stroll among the houses with flowered gardens, wild creeks, birds in multitude in which more than 220 species cross paths, and a profusion of flowers, hydrangeas, mimosas, camellias, eucalyptus or aloes, with real blue agapanthes carpets...
The island of Bréhat is only 3.5 km wide and 1.5 km long, which is not much, but enough for a beautiful day. If you want to move a little, you can go and see the glassworks, in the old citadel, the White Tower, the Rosédo and Peacock lighthouses, the Birlot mill or the salt pond of the Lenn...
But you can also listen to the wind and the seagulls sing, against a background of rare silence...
