Bricks, tiles, chimneys, ridge spikes, fleurons... more than 7000 pieces!
In a few words....
Presentation in a few words, excerpts from the site of the permanent exhibition Cera'Brique :
"The permanent exhibition Céra'brique presents the collection of architectural ceramics built up over more than 20 years by the collector Michel Pasquier.
This ensemble, unique in France, with nearly 7,000 French and foreign pieces dating from the 19th and 20th centuries, was acquired by the city of Romorantin-Lanthenay and integrated into the collections of the Sologne Museum.
Recognised as a heritage attraction by the Ministry of Culture, this collection received the "Musée de France" label in 2011.
Inaugurated in April 2017 in the Fabrique Normant, the didactic and original museography makes it possible to discover all the richness of this collection in more than 150 m of display cases.
Six main themes.
Along 150 metres of windows, the tour is organised around six themes:
- Clay, a universal material
- The know-how of the tile maker
- These bricks that colour France
- Ceramics on every street corner
- Ceramics: interior and exceptional decorations
- Alexandre Bigot at the sandstone of Art Nouveau
The visit can be carried out freely, or guided.
We can therefore simply admire the wonders on display, or go a little further in an educational approach, and seek to understand the elements gathered in this unusual collection, of course, but also rich in know-how and artistic approaches, expressed over time.
