Everybody knows that Triaize is well known for its famous Fête de la bouse, which is particularly unusual, and about which the Grand Ouest Insolite has obviously written a superb pedagogic-rigolo article!
But, in addition, this same small town has the Miellerie des Fontenelles, to be discovered and visited!
The Miellerie des Fontenelles
It is already in an interesting environment, five minutes from the nature reserve of Saint Denis du Payré, and 15 minutes from the beaches of La Faute sur mer and Aiguillon sur mer, for example.
Finally, there are two farms on the same farm: one with 200 organic hives, and the other with about 700 conventional hives. That's a few bees!
The one with organic hives, "Les Butinades", transforms the honey it collects into spice, "confimiel", or nougats.
She also organizes workshops, a workshop for making "confimiels" in winter, a workshop for collecting pollen in spring, a workshop for making candles and lip balms all year round and, particularly appreciated, a workshop for making nougats during school holidays!
In short, an unusual, educational and gourmet visit!
