Brest cable car: feet in the void....

On the ground, there is a glass porthole. The result: not only can you enjoy an extraordinary view all around you, but you can also look at what's happening below... and it's quite impressive! Thrills guaranteed for people prone to vertigo!

Why this cable car?

The city of Brest is divided into two parts by a coastal river, the Penfield, crossed by two bridges.

Very schematically, we can say that the left bank has seen significant development in the city centre, with a strong economic attractiveness, while the right bank, formerly the sailors' and workers' quarter of the arsenal, has gradually become poorer. In order to revive it, it was decided to create a new district, the Capuchin district, in place of the former military workshops. A surface area of 16 ha for housing, shops, offices, a multiplex cinema, and a 9500 m² media library!

This project highlighted the difficulty of linking the two shores, and therefore had a major impact on the decision to create a cable car in December 2011.

It starts from boulevard Jean Moulin, on one side, and on the other side, as close as possible to the "château" station of the tramway. The route represents 420 metres.
