A museum dedicated to those famous beans found in galettes des rois is unusual enough! What's more, the museum features a whole range of Christmas cribs, 1900s boutiques and an archaeological tour!
Fèves...
This is where enthusiasts ("fabophiles"!) can indulge their passion! Thousands of fava beans, in all shapes and materials, are on display, as part of a history of the bean from its origins to the present day! Curious, isn't it?
Quite logical, the Christmas crib room
Given that the galette des rois (and its bean!) celebrates the arrival of the Magi at the crib, it's only logical that a room in this museum should be dedicated to it. You'll be surprised to discover a collection of some sixty nativity scenes from all five continents!
The 1900 stores.
Here's a school, a grocery store, a bakery (which doesn't say whether it sells galettes des rois!) - in short, here's a life-size reconstruction of eight stores, an old-fashioned echo of the 1900s!
And 2000 years earlier...
This decidedly eclectic museum also takes us back 2000 years, to the Gallic people of Namnètes, who gave their name to the city of Nantes. Yes, but there are those who argue that their capital was located in Blain, at the crossroads of 10 Roman roads and a major trading center of the time! In short, you'll be wondering about this serious and controversial issue.
