A very natural museum...
Very natural, of course, since it is the Natural History Museum of Bourges. About 170 000 specimens invite you there ! So, I am not going to launch into an exhaustive description of this museum, and all the more so as I really think that the only way to discover all its richness is to go there.
But well... the "Berry insolite" had nevertheless to speak about the history of the beast of Tendu-Mosnay, obviously...
Very unusual guests !
Among these unusual hosts, indeed, you will find the beast of Tendu-Mosnay, and to remind you the history, you will see a fractured wolf's skull, put on a wooden base, and a thumb, yes, the thumb of a certain Henri Berlot, preserved in a glass test tube filled with alcohol. In July 1878, the story made a lot of noise in Argenton sur Creuse! Which story? Well, the story of the beast of Tendu-Mosnay, of course!
In this category of very unusual guests, you will also see the Darwin's Nandou, and Citronnelle, the Algerian gazelle. You will meet the "formigas vestidas", the dressed ants, these tiny characters formed from real ants, tradition of Sao Paulo. You will see the translucent horn of the stolen rhinoceros head. And, why not, you may dream in front of Théophile Moreux's globe representing Mars!
